There are several different terms for eyebrow styles. Here I will explain what the differences are, and what brow styles are most requested by me.
NANO HYBRID/COMBO BROWS
You will hear the term "hybrid" & "combo" all around the permanent makeup industry. Don't get confused, they mean the same thing.
This style brow combines airy & fluffy hair strokes on the front of the brow, with shading to the body, arch and tail to add body and depth. This creates a natural, yet dense brow. Strokes are not done by a microblade, I use a small machine to deposit pigment, resulting in the hair strokes. That same small machine will do all of the shading as well. The saturation of pigment will vary client to client. I can create the softest saturation, or a more dense filled in saturation all depending on what your preferences are and your eyebrow goals. Not to worry, all of this will be discussed PRIOR to starting the procedure.
*All work is done based on your preference. There are no two pairs of brows that I will create to be the same. All work is customized to YOU, your features, age, skin tone, etc.
OMBRE/POWDER BROWS
Ombre and powder are almost identical. The difference would be the saturation of pigment to the fronts of the brows. Ombre brows will have a much softer front. A gradient effect from lightest (front of brow "bulb) to the darkest part (the end of your brow "tail") The shading will not be solid. The goal is a soft, powdery appearance. It will appear to be a more filled in look than your natural brows, and can be enhanced with makeup.
Powder brows is a shading technique as well, applying a sheer application of pigment. This technique will provide some more saturation to the fronts of the eyebrows. More of a "makeup" look. However, keep in mind this technique will not be solid. The goal is a soft, powdery appearance. It will appear to be a more filled in look than your natural brows, and can be enhanced with makeup.
*All work is done based on your preference. There are no two pairs of brows that I will ever create to be the same. All work is customized to YOU, your features, skin tone, etc.

Oily skin types are better suited for ombre' or powder brows, as the oil will blur hair strokes over time. Dry, healthy, and clear skin is generally ideal for hair strokes. Taking ACCUTANE, which alters the skin and makes it thin, dry, and sensitive. For those reasons, you will need to wait one year after your treatment is completed. Skin with active acne, scars in the eyebrow area, rosacea, and previous work/tattoos (on eyebrows or lips) will need a consult first, to determine if you are a candidate. If you are pregnant or nursing, you will need to wait until baby has arrived, or you are done nursing. The numbing creams contain chemicals that has unknown effects to the baby.
Chemotherapy and radiation patients have to be off of both treatments before having the procedure done. ALOPECIA clients are welcome to come!
Every appointment will start with a short consultation & your consent forms. We will go over your paperwork and discuss your permanent make-up goals, making sure we are both on the same page. Then I will spend 30-40 minutes mapping & shaping your eyebrows until I have your approval to move forward. Once we have the shape you love & you are relaxed, we will then start the procedure. All together the appointment can last for 2-3.5 hours. The touch up 4-6 weeks later should not take more than an hour.
You would be surprised if I told you, most clients fall asleep! Two different topical anesthetics will be applied before and during your procedure. Giving continual comfort throughout your appointment. This will not feel like a traditional tattoo. With permanent make-up, I am only implanting the pigment 0.1 to 0.2 millimeters into the skin. A traditional tattoo will implant pigment about 1-2 millimeters, entering the topmost layer of the dermis. From 0-10, most clients rate the pain level at 2-4. Clients have also described the feeling of tweezing. After the procedure you may feel tender in the area, a tightness to the area, or feel a sunburned feeling.
Permanent Makeup is considered "semi-permanent". That term comes into play because if you were to stop getting your eyebrows done, over the years the eyebrows will fade. However, the existing work will fade down to a "blotch" or stain on the skin, not ever fully leaving. Because the work does fade, your annual touch ups are needed to keep the brows looking polished, vibrant, and crisp. Factors such as the sun, chemical peels, pool/ocean will play a role in the fading process. 1-2 years, is the general time clients start to need their annual touch ups. Oily skin types will need more frequent touch ups as well.
Microblading is an older technique. This industry is constantly evolving to give clients the best desirable results possible. A microblade is a manual tool with a series of needles in a variety of blade shapes and diameters. This tool cuts into the skin, creating a paper-cut like split into the skin. Creating rows of tiny cuts (into hair stokes). This can cause scarring, pigment blurring, & undesired results. I do not offer microblading for these reasons. I can achieve hair strokes with the evolutionary & modern NANO technique.
NANO strokes are done using a small machine, with one single needle. As a result of the needle's diminutive size, minimal trauma is inflicted upon the skin. The result is an airy, powdery appearance to the strokes. Creating beautiful natural hair strokes without the trauma.
